Keeping your child safe shouldn’t fall to one person.
Invite a co-parent, grandparent, or any trusted adult to share supervision. They’ll see the same activity, receive the same notifications, and can approve or reject on your behalf — together.
Families are complicated. ChatMinder keeps up.
Whether you’re co-parenting after a separation, want grandparents involved in day-to-day supervision, or just need reliable backup when you’re unavailable — co-guardian support means the job is shared, not doubled. Guardians of children who already chat on ChatMinder can also find each other through Suggested Contacts, so there’s no need to swap emails first. See how it works for co-parents and grandparents.
Co-guardians share the full picture
Co-guardians can see and do everything the primary guardian can: pending approvals, chat activity, contact history, protection settings, and (with Premium) read your child’s messages and view AI risk scores.
They can approve or reject messages and contact requests, add contacts, and change protection level settings. The one thing only the account owner can do is remove co-guardians or delete a protected profile.
Inviting a co-guardian — step by step
Step 1 — Open the child’s protected user profile
In your Supervision dashboard, go to Protected Users, and tap the protected user you want to share supervision of.
Step 2 — Add Guardian
Within the User Profile section, click Guardians.
Then tap the contact who you want to invite as a Guardian.
Alternatively, you can invite by email or by Minder Id.
Step 3 — They accept
The invited guardian receives an email with a link to accept. They’ll need a ChatMinder account — if they don’t have one, the invitation link walks them through creating one.
Step 4 — Immediate access
Once accepted, they have full co-guardian access immediately. They’ll receive notifications just as you do.
Add as many as you need
There’s no limit on co-guardians. From the child’s settings you can view the full list of co-guardians — including their names and when they last reviewed activity — so you can avoid duplication and stay coordinated.
Access can be revoked instantly at any time from the same settings. Removed co-guardians lose access immediately and can’t see further activity.
One Premium subscription — shared with everyone
If any guardian on a protected user has Premium, all co-guardians for that child automatically share the Premium benefits — including the ability to read your child’s messages and use Smart Approval. You don’t each need to pay separately.
