Kids video calling
Video calls for kids. No SIM, no phone number.
Give your child a safe way to video call family on a tablet, iPad or old phone. Calls run over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and you decide exactly who can call them.
Calls with guardians are free · No phone number or email needed for your child · iPhone, iPad and Android

A video calling app that puts you in charge.
One tap to call the people they love, and nobody else gets through unless you say so.
No SIM needed
Calls work over Wi-Fi or mobile data, so a tablet or an old phone can reach you wherever you are.
You choose who can call
Guardians can always call their child. Everyone else is blocked until you switch them on: audio only, or audio and video.
Logged, never recorded
Every call shows up in the chat as answered, missed or declined, with its length. No audio or video is ever recorded.
A real call experience
On iPhone and iPad, incoming calls use the same call screen as FaceTime and phone calls, so your child sees a proper incoming call even if ChatMinder is closed. On Android, the standard call screen is used.
Your child can answer or decline from the lock screen. During a call, either person can mute, switch to the earpiece or end the call at any time. Everything about calling →

You control who can call your child
- Guardians: always allowed, whatever the other settings are.
- Not Allowed (default): no calls or video calls with anyone except guardians.
- Calls Only: audio calls with others, no video.
- Calls and Video: both are allowed.
With Premium you can override this for individual conversations, for example video calls with grandparents while everyone else stays blocked. If someone tries to call and isn’t allowed, the guardians are notified.
Why not just use FaceTime or WhatsApp?
Apps built for adults, like WhatsApp and FaceTime, assume your child has their own phone number or Apple ID. ChatMinder doesn’t: you create your child’s profile, sign them in on a tablet with a QR code, and choose who they can talk to.
And because ChatMinder is also a supervised chat app, the people your child calls can be the same people they message, with approvals, notifications and a weekly activity summary for you. See how ChatMinder compares →
